Our Impact
Founder
Mother Blood Bank was founded in 2013 by Akash Mamidi, a Stanford University graduate in Computer Science. What began as a mission to bridge the gap between willing blood donors and those in urgent need has grown into one of India's most impactful humanitarian technology platforms.
Under Akash's leadership, Mother Blood Bank achieved the remarkable distinction of being officially recognised by the Guinness World Records for conducting the World's Largest Blood Donation Drive — a testament to the scale of mobilisation and community trust the organisation has built over the years.
Akash had the rare honour of being personally mentored by the late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the beloved former President of India and one of the country's most revered scientists. Inspired by Dr. Kalam's vision of a self-reliant and compassionate India, Akash channelled that guidance into building a platform that today operates with 200+ dedicated volunteers across the country and has contributed to saving more than 400,000 lives to date.
Beyond Mother Blood Bank, Akash has built and led multiple successful ventures across technology, alumni engagement, and the creator economy — driven by a consistent belief that technology should serve people at the most critical moments of their lives.
